My Thoughts:
The timing of this could have perhaps been a little bit better, as we had just closed our pool when I received these to try. BUT, I truly enjoy my daily post-workout showering ritual–especially during the winter. SO, I thought, even though I can’t give these the most thorough submersion test out, I can certainly use them in shower.
Funny enough, I usually use a portable speaker outside of the shower so that I can jam out. This bundle allowed me to take that routine to a whole other level.
The sound from these wrap-around-the-back-of-the-neck headphones is good. I am normally an over-the-head headphones wearer, but this design is actually perfect for showering, as the headphones and cord stay out of the way of washing my hair. As for the iPod shuffle, I was able to clip it only my towel hanging on the far side of the shower. It is a neat set-up that this bundle allowed me to create. As the name of the brand suggests, both the headphones and iPod functioned as normal, even though they were getting soaked. For reference, our shower has loads of shower heads, so I was really able to test it out as best I could, sans a pool.
Though I can’t speak from experience that swimming with this system would work well, I can’t imagine anything less than that. I bet it’s a totally awesome feeling to be submerged in water while rocking out to your favorite music. HOWEVER, I did place the iPod shuffle in a glass of water with the music playing, and there was no sacrifice of sound water or any change at all when I did so. Water submersion test for the iPod shuffle: passed!
I can’t wait to bring these on my next summer vacation or local pool. They provide a unique way to enjoy your favorite tunes. I would recommend them most to my triathlete friends and those that like a comfortable way to listen to music while exercising in the water. The iPod shuffle could easily clip onto even a small swimsuit.
Besides the capability it provides, my favorite aspect of this waterproof bundle is that it’s low profile. There’s no big, hard case around the outside of the unit. It looks like a normal set of headphones and a normal iPod shuffle. So cool!
